Meow mail, part 1

I’ve been getting a considerable amount of great new music suggestions from artists all over the world lately. Here are a few tracks that caught my ear immediately. Pick your favourites. There doesn’t have to be just one, you can gladly choose all three.

AQUILO

Aquilo is a UK duo, Tom Higham and Ben Fletcher, who have released one tantalising track “Calling Me” – a soft slow-mo electronic delight. The guys have promised a second song along with live dates very soon…

Ballerina Black

Ballerina Black from Los Angeles already have an album out, and more recently an EP called Injureless (Blå) including BB’s newest single Cannot Feel The Reign“. Deriving post-punk/new wave inspiration from the 80s, the group has absorbed a very “Factory Records” kind of sound, which gets the official Meow seal of approval.

EioN

Dancestep/dubstep musician EioN from Santa Monica, US, makes upbeat electro tunes and remixes. In his portfolio also lurks the more downtempo “Be Free” (a remix of Civil Twilight – “Highway of Fallen Kings”) that tickles my soft spot for glitch music pretty nicely.
